I have installed Azalia, and I have HD Audio Output in System Preferences -> Audio, I can set a volume, but still I can't hear any sound from my speakers. Open Finder Go To "Applications" Open "Utilities Folder" Open "Audio MIDI Setup" Under "Properties For", there should be 2 "AC97 Audio (PCM)" choices, Change it to the one which shows the Output settings. Once you have the Output settings visible, change the audio output to "4Ch-16bit" Then click "Configure Speakers" Change The Left and Right Front Speakers to "3" and "4". The second thing is that under volume sliders only 1 and 2 are active. I can't slide M (master I think) How did you install this soundcard's driver? I just enabled Soundmax under Bios and configured the settings in Audio Midi and had sound. I just enabled Soundmax under Bios and configured the settings in Audio Midi and had sound. strange i didn't have ANY sound nor a slider available with my uphuck install and soundmax... which soundmax do you have? I didn't notice during the installation soundmax driver to enable, only Azalia.
