benjalizana
hey guys.. im new around here.. and i need advice well the thing is that i started installing osx86 10.4.4 and ive got two problems regarding installation. 1) installation is slow as HELL ive got to click like ten times before it actually hits the button 2)after i pass the registration point into the Disk utility option, it doesnt recognize my partitioned disks i have a Seagate 250 GB HD Sata and i partitioned it into 210GB for XP and the rest for OS X and the disk utility does not find any of my HD to select, thus im stuck... the only thing i can see in the utility disk display is the OS X 10.4.4 DVD but nothing else. I need help plz:) id like to know regarding disk partitions... what format should have them??? FAT32 or NFTS??? and also i wanted to know... is there a way to install OSx86 through the use of virtual disks into a bootable drive so when i boot my pc i can choose dual boot?? eggie
first you would be better off getting a newer install dvd (look for uphuck on demoniod and go for the one thats 1.3) 1) guess you'll have to wait :-P 2)this could be where the newer install dvd could help, see how that goes, you can leave the partiton unformated and the install dvd will format it in HFS+ 3)you can dual boot without vm's Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/56401-cant-find-partitions-problems-yikess/#findComment-403265 Share on other sites

benjalizana
heey!!! i tried uphuck and this install method Profit 42 OsX 10.4.9 Install Guidei have XP running and wanted to install OSx 10.4.9. i create the partition and set it active and booted into darwin... but i encounter the same problem all the time, the install is VERY slow(above normal) plus it takes ages for the install menu to respond to the click of the mouse. Im not certain what the problem could be, but i wouldn't say its the hardware cause i checked compatibility and it was all OK. i also tried other versions, 10.4.4 and had the same problems and once i moved pass them.. the disk utility was no able to find my partitions. i did manage to install it successfully using Vmware. Is there a way to install through Vmware into a created partition and then make that partition bootable??? Thanks for the help.. if you guys have any ideas or solution feel free to email me to benjalizana@gmail.com Ben Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/56401-cant-find-partitions-problems-yikess/#findComment-404102 Share on other sites
