Hello, I just installed OS X on my x86 computer, I have a Geforce FX 5200 graphics card, a Sony Trinitron G400 19' monitor, and an Asus P4C-800 Deluxe mobo. I have several problems:

- My sound card isn't detected

- My display is only 1024x768@60Hz

- I tried to install 2 applications (Opera and Photoshop), but when I double-click the application icon, nothing happens

- My keyboard layout is Brazilian ABNT2, but when I type, it seems OS X is still using USA keyboard

- The Ctrl key doesn't work, as a result, no shortcut are accessible.

Is there anything I can do about these issues?

Thanks,

Hey Charles,

What build of OS X are you using? Is it JaS, Tubgirl or Uphuck? What version 10.4.6/7/8/9 etc

Do you receieve any errors during boot, for example anything to do with AppleAC97Audio.kext?

Have you tried changing the layout of the keyboard in the OS? Under System Preferences?

Hi Richard, thanks for your reply. I'm absolutely new to OS X. Could you tell me how I could find out the build of OS X? This must be mentioned in some obscure menu somewhere, right?

No, there's no error during the boot.

I went there, but I didn't see any option to change keyboard layout, only key substitution. Any idea? Thanks again :thumbsup_anim:
