I downloaded tiger-x86.tar.bz2 and then i used winrar to unzip it and got an tiger-x86-flat.img file of 6gb.and on the torrent sitee it also mentioned tht it is a VMware image. i read thru one of the guides and thought of using it in the long run as it did not ask me to make an ISO image and burn it on the DVD. not im stuck with a small part on tht guide whn it used 'select disk x' (x standing for the disk number) i dont get wht the disk number is????

and also is there any other way of doing it...? pls help me with it i really want to have this macOS :-(. and any other guide frm the wiki or anywhere will also b a lot of help

As headrush69 stated above,

Problems occur more often with the earelier versions of the Mac OSX-86 distributions.

I would highly recommend getting a JAS/Uphuck dist from the usual places. The installs are smoother, and require much little effort than the originals.

Hope this helps!

Richard,

A link to the guide you are following would help.

Using a Jas/Tubgirl/Uphuck DVD is by far the easiest method for installing OSX. (Highly recommended for less experienced users)

this is the guide tht im following.

and pls can u elaboarate a bit more on wht u replied with.

That version you are using is extremely old and I would suggest using a different more up to date DVD.

Not allowed to post the link directly, but please list your hardware and I'll PM with some helpful links.

okok...

as for the hardware it sucks right now.

ill b getting a new toshiba laptop pretty soon in summer.

but i was just trying to have it on my compaq. Its V1000

got a 256mb ram. 1.4 GHz intel centrino.

i kno it isnot compatible with the versions. so i went for the older version of mac os. as i believe the new jas versions wont work on my PC.

thnku,
