I've got a new box (Acer Veriton 6900pro):

Intel Core2Duo 1,86 GHz

Intel Q965 w/ GMA3000

ICH8DO (4 SATA Ports at 0x28208086, 2 SATA Ports at 0x28258086)

I just cant't get it to work... Tried netkas' 8.9.1 kernel, semthex, have been adding the device ids to AppleAHCIPort.kext - no luck. Booting from USB - same result.

It freezes after

Waiting for Boot Volume with UUID=[...]

Waiting on <dict ID="0"><key>IOProviderClass[...]

Keyboard NumLock not responding, i assume it hangs even before activating the kexts.

I am using a sata drive with a working 10.4.9 system from another hackintosh.

Is there anyone with a working setup on a Q965/ICH8DO, or am I out of luck?

Thanks

n0rad

(not to be confused with that N.O.R.A.D. guy)

Hi I got same chipset, however its a P5B-VM Do MB from asus.

I tried several different DVDS and they ALL freeze on bootup but boot on other machines.

I use a DVD sata drive and tried all settings in bios etc.

So yes, any help for Q965 chipsets is highly appreciated!! :)

It is probably ACPI driver and/or BIOS related.

Hirez, woud you do m a favour and try booting with

-v debug=0x144 io=0xffffffff

and tell us how far it gets?

Cou could then disable AppleACPIPCI.kext to see if it gets any further
