mourngrym1969
Sure. First, what OS version are you trying to load? (i.e. Jas 10.4.8 DVD, Tubgirl 10.4.8/9, Uphuck 10.4.9 v1.2, 1.3, etc)... Second, I have a good idea what your problem is. Your onboard video. I have seen numerous posts where the older Nvidia 4xxx series chips have problems starting. You can either attempt to get your device id and vendor id from windows and hand edit the affected kext files (those are the drivers) OR (this is the one I recommend you do), you disable onboard video and go get a cheap $40 Nvidia FX5200 either AGP or PCI since they are both supported with full acceleration just fine. Good luck! Mourngrym Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/56128-somebody-help-me/#findComment-401125 Share on other sites

Hagar
My hardware is P4 prescott 3,0 ht socket 478 mPGA (MMX,SSE,SSE2,SSE3) mainbort Micro Star İnternational (MSI - MS-7060) 661FX chipset and 964 southbridge That is a SiS chipset, these are often troublesome, and offhand I don't know whether that can be made to work. The problem almost certainly lies with your ATA controller. you could check the wiki & search on here to see if anyone has succeeded with this. if you try disabling all ide/ata devices except the install DVD & the harddrive, then it may be detected, but the chances are disk performance will be very slow as it will be using the genric ata driver. All this assumes that your harddrive is (P)ATA not sata, and that you are getting this error booting the DVD, rather than after install.. Best of Luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/56128-somebody-help-me/#findComment-401251 Share on other sites
