basil fawlty
I'm currently using mepis 6.5.02 and having problems with sound, it skips when I move resize windows etc. This happens with xmms, amarok, rhythmbox etc.. I have googled this and come to the conclusion that my sound applications need to run with a higher priority. Rhythmbox plays perfectly using the command "nice -n-10 rhythmbox" but this requires root access. My specs are asrock dual core vsta motherboard, intel dual core 2.13 cpu and a midiman audiophile soundcard. basil fawlty
Ive looked at the KDE sound options, tried all the 'drivers' oss, alsa etc and altered the play with realtime priority setting with no success.
