I haven't been able to figure out how to get my hp zd8225 laptop to run at it's native 1440x900 resolution in either 8f1099 or 8f1111. It has a X600 mobility 128Mb chip. So last night I had the idea to connect an external monitor and it works just fine. I can use the "Graphics Mode" command at the boot: promt to set just about any resolution I want. So my questions is this: what is the difference between running the internal and external display? Why would it work on the external display and not the internal? Is it that 1440x900 is not "standard" resolution?

Any thoughts?

P.S. Also 8F1111 won't recognize the intenal keyboard or touchpad, 8F1099 worked just fine. Is there a way to get them working?

Thanks very much
