TheQuantumByte
Hey everyone... I've had this very frustrating problem with my dock. For some reason, the finder icon on the far left does not show the blue smiley face, but instead shows the icon for the "ICNS" file type This has really annoyed me, and I've tried going into the package contents of finder.app and dock.app and can't find anything wrong. Your help is really appreciated. Thanks, Isaac.
djh816
Copy the attached file into /System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/Resources overwriting the old one. Then click on Finder.app and get info. Then click on the icon and hit delete. This should do it. You may need to relaunch the dock to see the changes. This can be down through the following command in terminal: sudo KillAll Dock Hope that helps.
