Hey all,

I've tried the naitive install via the Ubuntu method about six times now on two separate computers. In each case, after detaching the USB drive and rebooting the system, I get the Darwin splash screen and then it asks me which OS to boot (only one is present). No matter whether I choose no options, the -x option, -v, -v -x, or any combination, it seems to attempt to load and then goes right back to the same OS selection screen! It's ruining my freakin' life! :P

The text of the screen:

Darwin/x86 boot v5.0.122

511mb memory

VESA v2.0 255mb (ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9800 )

Use (arrow) keys to select the startup volume.

(Highlighted) hd(0,1) tiger-x86

Then the standard bit about boot options, followed by a "boot:" prompt.

The system should be fairly compatible: Dell XPS laptop (Gen 1), intel 865 chipset, Radeon 9800, P4 3.4ghz with SSE3.

Alternate system is an HP ZD7000 series with p4 2.8ghz/SSE3 & an Nvidia 5700 vid chip.

Any ideas gratefully accepted.
