RJMac
Completely new here, so I thought I'd add something of value. Here's a list of all the current Intel and AMD processors, their instruction sets and socket info. Keys: Processor name Core Available Instruction sets Socket (If NX is present, it will be stated as NX) Notes: NX technology stands for 'No Execute Bit' and stops the processor from dumping malicious data bits to the RAM. AMD refers to this technology as Enhanced Virus Protection (EVP). SSE stands for 'Streaming SIMD Extensions.' SSE2 and SSE3 are additions to the standard SSE set. -------------------------------------- AMD AMD Sempron 2800+ Palermo MMX, 3DNow!, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 and x86-64 754 AMD Sempron 3000+ Palermo MMX, 3DNow!, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 and x86-64 754 AMD Sempron 3400+ Palermo MMX, 3DNow!, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 and x86-64 754 AMD Athlon 64 3000+ MMX, 3DNow!, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 and x86-64 Venice 939 NX AMD Athlon 64 3200+ MMX, 3DNow!, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 and x86-64 Venice 939 NX AMD Athlon 64 3500+ MMX, 3DNow!, SSE, SSE2 and x86-64 Newcastle 939 NX AMD Athlon 64 3800+ MMX, 3DNow!, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 and x86-64 Venice 939 NX AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ MMX, 3DNow!, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 and x86-64 Manchester 939 NX AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ MMX, 3DNow!, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 and x86-64 Toledo 939 NX AMD Athlon 64 FX-57 MMX, 3DNow!, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 and x86-64 San Diego 939 NX Intel Intel Celeron D 330 MMX, SSE, SSE2 and SSE3 Prescott LGA775 Intel Celeron D 346 MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 and EM64T Prescott LGA775 Intel Pentium 4 530 MMX, SSE, SSE2 and SSE3 Prescott LGA775 Intel Pentium 4 540 MMX, SSE, SSE2 and SSE3 Prescott LGA775 Intel Pentium 4 640 MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 and EM64T Prescott LGA775 Intel Pentium D 820 MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 and EM64T Smithfield LGA775 Intel Pentium 4 560 MMX, SSE, SSE2 and SSE3 Prescott LGA775 Intel Pentium 4 660 MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 and EM64T Prescott LGA775 Intel Pentium 4 570 MMX, SSE, SSE2 and SSE3. DrJägermeister
What's about VIA CPU's? Some of these have SSE2 and will maybe work. If anyone have tested this, feel free to post your results.
