DiCroSi
Hardware Specs: Intel Pentium 4 478 Prescott Supports: MMX SSE SSE2 SSE3 Motherboard: Dell 0W2563 - Intel Chipset i875P Southbridge 82801 EB (ICHS) Dont know what else you might need. I am trying to get 10.4.3 to run natively. I have the file macosx_10.4.3_8f1111_for_dtk_userdvd.dmg and have converted it to an ISO using UltraISO. I first tried applying JAS' SSE3 patches, not knowing it supported SSE3, and it didnt work, so I applied JAS' SSE2 patches, and it booted this time and got to the "Press any key to install OS X or press F8...". When I press any key, it takes me directly back to that screen. When i do a -v -s to boot into single user, it shows some output, and flashes back to the opening screen. I have also applied Maxxus' 1.0 patch, cause thats what the HCL list here says will work with my CPU. I did apply that after I applied JAS' patches, and dont know if that overwrites anyting or not. I have jsut deleted the ISO that all those were applied to, and re-converted the dmg to an iso and am ready to try again, but have wasted so many DVD's that I am reluctant to burn yet another one. I can get the thing to install in VMWare, even though it freezes at the opening screen when it reboots. I dont want it to run in VMWare, but will accept that if thats what needs to be done. It also took me way to long (4 days about) to aquire this image, and would greatly like to use it, instead of having to download 8f1099, but I will if needs be. So, anyone have any insight into this? Will it be worth it for me to burn the next DVD using Maxxus' 1.0 patch with just the noNX patch applied? Thanks in advance for the help! PS. I should mention that I got 10.4.1 to run great on this same machine('cept i could never reboot it). I just want to see the differenced between them.
