waiting for root device error

Hello,

 

I've been trying to install mac os 86 on my computer and have not had success getting past the" waiting for root device error".

 

My system spec:

 

AMD X2 4600+

1GIG DUAL CHANNEL DDR RAM

250 GIG WESTERN DIGITAL ULTRA IDE SATAII DRIVE

LG DVDRW FULLY COMPATIBLE CHECKED ON LIST

ATI X00GT PCIE 256MB CARD

FLOPPY

K8N NEO4 S939 MOTHERBOARD

 

I have one windows partition and I created one af partition.

 

I have also tried running the boot option "platform=X86PC" and get a "unable to find driver for this platform"

 

I also get the "display family specific matching fails" error.

 

I have burnt the marklar install dvd, and was wondering if I needed to patch with a patch before burning it and if so which one.
