hryamzik
Well. Macs with new airports do work at those channels. I know that my hardware (d-link dwl g510) can use them (works on linux). But I've no idea how to enable support of thar channels in OS X. Any ideas? consolation
Well. Macs with new airports do work at those channels. I know that my hardware (d-link dwl g510) can use them (works on linux). But I've no idea how to enable support of thar channels in OS X. Any ideas? Airport cards had support for these channels from way back in 1999, the first Airport base stations to support them were Snow models in 2001, iirc. So, if you are on apple HW, you don't need to do anything to "enable" support. If you are running a hacky, it depends on whether your HW supports them -if it does you will be able to log into networks on those channels. consolation
when you click on "create network" in the airport icon, can you use those channels? It might be one of those issues you have to live with since no hacky is 100% compatible. hryamzik
Of course I can't, only 11 channels are available here. You know, in America and Russia only 11 may be used, 13 in Europe, 14 in Japan. I've tried to find smth in hex code of drivers, there are some words about countries. Setting region to Paris doesn't help. consolation
odd, my old Ti PB, would let me create whatever channels I wanted wherever I was. IN Theory, you should be able to select, say 13, on your dlink then have your card hook up automatically.
