yoursagentsmith
Hi friends I noticed a strange thing: I have two NTFS partition on two different drives. One is mounted with "NTFS-3g (MacFUSE)", has a network share icon and it works perfectly. The other one has a hard disk icon, and mounted as "Windows NT Filesystem". With this partition files and folders names are shown without icons or sizes, and when you click on a (known to be) directory, it disappears. How can I tell the system to mount this partition with NTFS3g+ MacFUSE? I'm using 1.0.4.9 Uphuck v1.3 image. Thanks,
Sudar
Maybe this page holds the answer.. http://www.ntfs-3g.org/support.html#plugandplay
yoursagentsmith
Hi Sudar thanks for the reply. Unfortunately this isn't an external hard drive. Anyway could it be related to orange/purple sata ports on Gigabyte DS3 motherboard? But if this is the case, the hd shouldn't be found... I try to run chkdsk on windows... yoursagentsmith
CHKDSK on Windows worked: now the faulted partition is mounted like the other one (with network share icon). Too bad that I have to change active partition to load Win or Mac.. I'm afraid to install a boot manager..
frizbot
Honestly, I'm not interested in playing with NTFS on OS X. It just seems dangerous to data and reliability.
yoursagentsmith
yes I understand your point of view, but it's a must when you are transitioning from Windows... and NTFS-3G has passed the 1.0 milestone long ago, it should be reliable if many major linux distro include it...
