Hi everybody,

are there any news on ALC 861 sound support? It seems all work on sound is stopped.

I just need sound working to have a beautifull hackintosh I can show to my friends. It seems this sound chip was working with OSX 10.4.6 but, since then, nobody was able to make it work.

Asus F3Jc (OSX 10.4.9) Using 10.4.8 JaS beta 8 DVD upgraded to 8.9.1 with netkas' kernel

Intel Pentium T5500 1.6 Ghz Core Duo -> (working 100%)

Hard driver (working 100%)

TouchPad (working 100%)

USB2 (working 100%, after installing debug kit from http://developer.apple.com/hardwaredrivers...d/usbdebug.html)

CD/DVD (working 100% after installing Patchburn -> http://www.patchburn.de/)

FireWire (working 100%)

Graphic card Nvidia Geforce Go 7300 -> OK with QE/CI: Resolution 1280x800x32@60 (Sleep crashes computer)

Bluetooth (working 100%)

Sound Realtek ALC861 seems to work with modified Azalia kext, but no line in, no volume control and no sound from speakers or jacks. AppleHDA Patcher is useless so far

Network card Realtek RTL8xxxx works with driver from: http://www.installers.dl.am

Wireless Intel 3945ABG not working but there's a driver here http://code.google.com/p/iwidarwin/ that could be the answer

TouchPad working

Built-in camera: Integrated Syntek DC-1125 USB 1.3mpx (Not working, but there's a linux driver here http://syntekdriver.sourceforge.net/ that could be easely ported. The Macam Project http://webcam-osx.sourceforge.net/ doesn't seem to be very interested in supporting this integrated webcam)

Card reader not working (it works, out of the box with linux, though)

Express Card not tested

Battery works with patched PowerManagementBundle from: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...237&hl=d600

I so... wish Taruga would carry out some work with his AppleHDA patcher to make this codec work.

He told me, some time ago, that he was working on a driver for several chips... but haven't heard from him for 2 months now.

Hi jjduro, I have same laptop as you so I was wondering do you have Power management and CPU throttling/stepping sorted out?

I've tried everything and nothing seems to work. My CPU temperatures are always 70° C +.

Thanks

Never bothered with that. Once I tried to install cputhrottle, but it never worked. I had a bad extension error.

The only patches I used are the ones listed in my first thread.

but.. try this: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=54319

What about sound? Do you have any?
