Problems with SATA Drive over 100gb on Asus P5B-VM

Hi,

I purchased an Asus P5B-VM board to replace my Asrock Conroe945-dvi which died.

I am using the onboard graphics with a 250gb sata Seagate drive. The only way to get the Disk Utility to detect my sata drive is to select "compatible" mode under the ide option. However, it only detects it as being a 128gb drive. When I select enhanced mode, it is not seen in the Disk Utility. I looked for the AHCI option but this is only available for the Jmicron controller and not available for the ich8 sata.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks

It explains which files you need to modify to get your sata drive recognised with the 'enhanced' setting in the bios.
