loop
Well, this is my 3rd install on this laptop of this system - 8f1099 - specifically from an image obtained from a popular site - "Mac OSx86 Build 8f1099 with Universal iTunes and Patched with Maxxuss PPF patcher + Extra maxxuss patches" Right now, wireless somehow works. I am not complaining - it did this before, also - at first boot, part of the configurations scanned for a wireless network, found mine and several others, and allowed me to enter a password to access it. Well, apparently that works... so OSX DOES know how to deal with my wireless card apparently (whatever the default included w/ d610 is - i think it's an intel 2200 maybe?). On the last 2 installs, however, rebooting kills the wireless. It simply won't work after that. Very frustrating. Other 2 problems - and really, the ONLY 2 other problems I have right now - are that my 1400x1050 screen won't run in anything other than 1024x768 (though it does look good at that rez, amazingly) and my sound won't work. My impressions of the OS: I've not used any Mac OS in a serious way in years. As a net admin that deals with linux and Windows every day, I've always longed to get my hands on this interface just to play. I like what I have used so far, and the more I get used to it, the more I really like it a lot. I don't like the safari browser, though. While pretty, the interface standards of Firefox really feel much more useful. Overall though, I really like it. It's stable-seeming, very very responsive, and ridiculously pretty. I LOVE expose' , wish i'd had that before. Questions: Anyone have any thoughts on the wireless thing? This is weird. Any suggestions on the other two issues of video and audio? Should I upgrade to the newer release, or stick with this one, and why? What are some good links for learning OSX and the various key combos, etc? Any other thoughts? Thanks in advance for any thoughts. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5411-my-fun-installation-latitude-d610/ Share on other sites
