[HELP]Stuck at black screen after boot screen

After i get past the white boot screen.My monitor tries to check signals and then the blue light on my gateway monitor power button turns from blue to orange and i am left with the monitor being off..It won't show me anything not even desktop screen after boot screen. Plz help..

 

Btw here is some info btw using mac os x 10.8 installation..its still installed but i have it at dual boot so i can only use xp for now =/

I have the same problem, but onlyon my VAIO notebook! I have 10.4.8 on my desktop and it happened in my first install, but it never happended again in the other installations I made on the desktop. Now in my laptop, i do everything as i did on my desktop, all the needed drivers..and after install and the apple white screen and the apple logo in the middle, the screens turns black and shuts off...but i still can hear the welcome music of the OS X!! somebody help! :)
