rasmits
I just patched my 10.4.3 F1111 build for my non-SSE3 CPU, and I got it to say, "to install press any key". When I continue, it shows the grey Apple and the loading wheel for a while, then a circular "no"-like sign pops up just above the Apple. What does this mean? rasmits
I've tried booting in safe mode, and -x. When I boot with -v, it stops after checking keyboard and mouse information. I've tried a few combinations of different keyboards and mice, including an Apple made pair, some compaq PS2 devices, and Targus USB stuff. But it still wont boot beyond that point. I'm I looking in the wrong place? I didn't think it could be so sensitive to input hardware. rasmits
This is the last message that shows up when booting in -v mode, in case it matters: Still waiting for root device. I have grub installed, and I heard that it can cause problems. So, I'm going to try deleting grub and seeing if that works. grabberslasher
Also can mean it doesn't have drivers for your cd/dvd drive. I had to swap an Apple drive into my machine to install. Emperor of The Unknown Universe
Is the boot problem with the darwin loader or OSX? Which is your active boot partition, if any? rasmits
Is the boot problem with the darwin loader or OSX? Which is your active boot partition, if any?Well, I'm trying to install OS X, so I don't think it's Darwin, but I don't have any idea. As far as the boot partition, also, I have no idea. Currently, I've got Windows XP and Ubuntu installed with Grub as a boot loader. I was hoping I could load up my OS X install DVD and wipe my HD clean, and have only OS X, but I can't get past this "still waiting for root device" error after the USB check. Emperor of The Unknown Universe
From the deadmoo(yummycow) version or the DVD which has tons of problems? Other than that, I need to know 3 other things equaling 5, the m-board manufacturer, processor type, and the hd-controller. All and/or Any of Those things will all account for the root error.
