Scrizz
Yes you should probably use older kexts, I myself did not have that problem b/c i used jas 10.4.9 update this is what I did for 10.4.8: Had to add device ID to ATIRADEON9700.kext Later used Callisto 008 for res switching, follow callisto faq to get res switching and QE CI. Plus installed QuartzSimple to enable Quartz2DExtreme Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/53863-ci-qe-on-ati-9800-xt/#findComment-384759 Share on other sites
sniperviper
hi scrizz, you mentioned to use callisto (b008) to enable QE & CI. how did you make it? can't find any instructions for that. (framebuffer entry/change in ATIGAxxxx-kext was made, too) res switching goes well - only 3D support is disabled. if i should go on with older kexts, do ou know which of them i have to replace? is it sufficient to use Jas 10.4.9 ATI9700.kext? thank you so muchfor your help! gtx sniper EDIT: just checked whether the ati9700.kext was loaded - but no success ! how can i modify my osx86 in order that system will load the kext? (my ati9700.kext has extended info.plist showing my device id, permisions were repaired and extension cache files were deleted) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/53863-ci-qe-on-ati-9800-xt/#findComment-386089 Share on other sites
Scrizz
well callisto didn't give me QE CI, editing the info.plist in the ATIRADEON9700.kext did. Callisto was used to enable res switching. I personaly used the Jas 10.4.8 sse2/sse3 version and didn't have to replace any kexts. This is what I did: Step 1: edit info.plist from ATIRADEON9700.kext Step 2: intall callisto added CallistoFB to ATIRADEON9700GA.kext (make sure you follow the callisto instructions and the faq.. don't skip steps. Step 3: Repair permissons Step 4: Watch a movie, lol Hope this works for you!
