jclay06 Posted June 8, 2007 Share Posted June 8, 2007 I was trying to install from the JaS 10.4.8 DVD and received this error message when booting into the disc: AppleHDA.kext failed to load: unable to locate 'layout-id' property. Extension "com.apple.iokit.IOUSBMAssStorageClass" has no kernel dependency. Still waiting for rooting device ... I tried using all the boot options (-v -f -x platform=x86pc ... etc) I've got one of the new Dell Ubuntu desktops ... here are the specs: 2.13GHz Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 2GB DDR2 RAM @ 667MHz nvidia GeForce 7300 LE 256MB 250GB SATA HDD I realize there are some issues with SATA hard drives so I tried one of my IDE HDDs in an USB2 external enclosure, but I still got the same message. I can get things to work through VMWare, but that's not really what I was hoping for.
