jimnastic
Hi there, Sorry to ask what is possibly a stupid question but here goes... I've been trying to install OS X on my PC all day. I've followed tutorials from countless different websites and I've deleted and created all kinds of different partitions, but the Disk Utility just doesn't seem to show my hard drive no matter what I do Does anyone have any idea why this is? Thanks
boinkytwo
You mean you dont see your hard drive in disk utility from the left pane? Post your system setups please.
StuLove
I am having the same problem. I am using the 10.4.6 installer DVD and have an Intel Core 2 Duo system with the following components: Gigabyte P965-based MB Sony SATA DVD-R drive IDE Hard Drive Partitions: Primary 1 - NTFS Primary 2 - Linux ext2 Primary 3 - Unformatted I have tried making 2 and 3 bootable, as well as switching 2 to Linux Swap and making it bootable. In all cases, Disk Utility does not recognize the hard drive. It only displays the CD-ROM drive in the list at the left. Thanks for any help. boinkytwo
@StuLove Dude, better use JaS 10.4.8, use custom install and install the ICH7R/ICH8R Patch, under Support for common hardware. Look here @jimnastic scsi wont work with osx (people, correct me if im wrong). but i think it works on certain adaptecs, with some kext hacking, im not sure. better hook up an ata hard disk and install osx there.
