d2macdomz Posted June 6, 2007 Share Posted June 6, 2007 Hey, having just installed OSX x86 for the first time, i encountered a problem. When i attempt to open a package file (double click to open in 'installer') the installer application quits. It wont even load an installation screen, this happened with both NeoOffice and limewire. Any help to fix this would be appreciated. specs are: AMD Sempron, 512mb RAM and running Jas's 10.4.8. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Prawker Posted June 9, 2007 Share Posted June 9, 2007 If this is anything like the 10.4.7 issue, then you might want to try setting installer to run using rosetta. Go to utilities in the applications folder and locate "Installer", right click it and select "Get info", and then check the box that says "open using rosetta". then try running an installer package again. If THAT dont work, the only other things i could recommend is using the installer app from another copy of OS X86, or just use pacifist to install packages.
