I'm trying to do the VMWare install in preperation for native HD install. I downloaded the Darwin ISO's from Apple's site twice now and get the same problem. When I try to boot from the image I get this error in VMWare:

***Virtual Machine kernel stack fault (hardware reset) ***

The virtual machine just suffered a stack fault in kernel mode. On a real computer, this would amount to a reset of the processor. It can be caused by an incorrect configuration of the virtual machine, a bug in the operating system, or a problem in the VMWare Workstation software. Press OK to reboot the virtual machine or Cancel to shut it down.

I get this on a 2.4ghz Celeron with SSE2 instructions and a 1ghz Mobile Athlon 4 (not sure if it has SSE2, I can't remember the command to check under Linux). If I load the VM under my AthlonXP 2200+ Darwin will boot, but will not give me any hard drives to install too.

What can I do to get around this? Each machine has the same version of VMWare installed.

i have the same problem. downloaded the darwin iso from mirror1 and mirror2 (linked @ www.xplodenet.com) but couldn't get it to work.

a solution to this problem is highly appreciated.

Edit: Solution found!

Sometimes you can't see the most obvious errors:

You have to click into the area of the VM, because otherwise the VM doesn't recognize pressed keys like ESC (for the boot-menu).
