BJMoose
Hi, In the spirit of trying everything that's out there, I built a new OSX86 system based on uphuck's v1.2 install disk. Everything works well, as it did with the JaS install disk. However, my NTFS drives don't hold their position on the desktop or their visual formatting when I open them. In other words, if I open the drive, place it in the center of the desktop, and then change it from folder view to column view, it doesn't remain that way when I close and reopen the drive. This works okay with my HFS+ and FAT32 partitions, but with none of my NTFS drives or partitions. Any idea what's causing this? Thanks!
CoolBits
That is because NTFS is read only and OSX cannot write to it... view settings are stored in a hidden file ".DSstore" Try this... http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/24481/ntfs-3g it will make NTFS writeable in OSX
BJMoose
Thanks Coolbits, that's what was missing. I've installed MacFuse in the past and never tied that in to my drives maintaining their view settings. I've still got much to learn in my switch from Windows to OSX.
