fyleow
I installed using the JaS 10.4.8 AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1 & PPF2 version on my Gigabyte DS3 rev 1.0 and everything works fine except for really slow read/write speeds. I get around 3-4 MB/s when I test with Xbench. I have my hard drive connected to the yellow port. SATA Native Mode is set to disabled because when it was enabled it couldn't detect it for installation. I tried installing the Intel fix from the ds2-4pack.1.2.dmg but it just killed my install and I couldn't boot anymore. Is there a fix to get fast hard drive write/read speeds? som3on3
do this sudo pico /System/Library/Extensions/IOATAFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext/Contents/Info.plist and on <key>ICH8 Serial ATA</key> change the pci value to this: <key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key> <string>0x28208086</string> and also make sure that the hdd is inserted in the first Yellow ports. let me know if you succeed Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/52808-gigabyte-ds3-slow-hard-drive-readwrite/#findComment-376963 Share on other sites
fyleow
I made the changes but the write/read performance is still slow. I plugged in the HDD to the purple port and the write/read was really fast but I can't get it to boot on the purple port anymore. Any ideas on other fixes?
