wvirgo Posted May 28, 2007 Share Posted May 28, 2007 Hi I am new to the OSX86 world, although not to macs in the least. Or Windows for that matter. Heres my scene. I dd'ed the 10.4.1 image (6gb) onto a separate drive. While this took ablout a half day, it finished. Ive tried this three times. I am doing it from within XP, using the physicaldevice1 command. Every time I go out and take out the windows drive and put the OSX drive in, I can start the PC ok, but It gets to the boot prompt and nothing more. Ive tried what I call switches -v,-x, ETC... Nothing. It just comes right back to Boot: Ive been reading thru the forums, and Idont see anthing like this yet. Actually Ive been digging all over for it. wvirgo Posted May 28, 2007 Author Share Posted May 28, 2007 Well, I have since installed the same drive into a USB cradle and connected it as boot drive on another PC. Now I get to the boot prompt, -x for safe mode. It does something, but it still comes bak to boot prompt. any one got an idea of what (besides a real mac) I might be missing here?
