livesunkept
my system is this everything is working perfectly fine. Audio, CDs and burning all images thus far. The only thing I can not get to work on OSx86 is DVD Playback. It keeps telling me to set the region and when I go to set it to one it crashes. Same with everyother option. Could it be because the dual boot is conflicting with it? I am updated to 10.4.3 Thank you for your help in advance. livesunkept
So I went and tried a bunch of the software/patches none of them worked. The error I get when I try to change the drive region code and get "There was a problem changing the drive region code. Error:-70023" Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5214-dvd-region-setting/#findComment-33138 Share on other sites

DrJägermeister
Tried this, but it still whines for region setting change. I don't remenber exactly, but I think it were a limit for some drives how often you can change that. cyrana
The best thing to do is look for a firmware for your drive that removes the region setting. http://www.cdrinfo.com has them for a lot of drives. I know my NEC 3540a has an update from there that has a few features and also makes it region-free. suleiman
my dvd player app crashes but does not prompt me to change the region. Does that mean that patching it would make no difference?
