doniv
Hi, I've got a perfectly functional OSx86 10.4.8 installation on my PC. Over the past few months that I've been using it (since 10.4.6), I've totally fallen head over heels for the OS. So much so that it pains me to use Windows on my laptop. I'm planning to migrate my PC installation to the laptop. PC config - Intel Core 2 Duo 2 GB RAM 250 GB SATA Intel G945 based ASUS P5LD2 VM SE mboard (GMA 950) 1440x900 LCD Laptop config - Dell 9400 Intel Core Duo 2 GB RAM 100 GB SATA Intel 945 based mboard NVidia 7800 Go Intel 3945 wireless 1920x1200 Truelife UltraSharp LCD I have Mac OS X installed on the third primary partition on my PC. I boot using GRUB (chainloader +1). First partition has Ubuntu. I intend to have Mac OS X installed on my laptop on a third primary partition with the first occupied by Windows. Suggestions on how to go about this migration are requested. The only reason I want to migrate the installation is because I've tinkered with a lot of settings and preferences on the existing Mac installation and I don't want to do them all over again on a new install (can't even remember them all, actually). Regards, Vinod.
Synaesthesia
If you can install Mac os x just use the utility called migration assistant. But it needs firewire. It's great, transfers all your apps, files etc.
