copying IMG to partition help

Okay, so I was following the guide in the wiki on how to install mac os x on a partition (I do not have an internal dvd burner and my bios is too old to boot off my usb one) I have:

 

-partition set up the proper way it told me

 

-an IMG image from my disc patched

 

-a bunch of software

 

-dd

 

now I run dd, and then modified the command he gave me to run on dd so it would work for me, and I get an error that i did not properly assign the output drive?
