ericmedici
I noticed that a lot of people were having kernel panics with GeForce video cards. I was having the same problem. I even tried booting with "-x" to no avail. So, I removed my GeForce 5900 PCX and now no more kernel panics on the 10.4.3 install DVDs. Weird. ericmedici
I didn't remove the drivers. I removed the card itself and it stopped the panics. Zaphod Beeblebrox
Wow, thx for the heads up. I haven't been able to get the 10.4.3 install DVD to work at all. It would either cycle restart the machine at the Darwin loader stage or give me the grey "You need to restart your computer..." screen of death. I just pulled my geforce4 ti4600 and replaced it with an Ati Radeon 9800. The install DVD now boots after a very long wait and is now installing just fine. I'll let you know if it is able to complete and boot a working installation. Eskurza
Same issue here, I had to take my Quadro2pro out.. otherwise kernel panics at boot.. I figured this out after installing native through Wmware though Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5146-geforce-cards-causing-1043-dvd-kernel-panics/#findComment-32822 Share on other sites
Zaphod Beeblebrox
I now have 10.4.3 working on my P4 2.6c /875p rig. Switching out the geforce4 ti4600 for the Radeon 9800 Pro did the trick for me.
