illustrator
Ok, I've tried 10.4.8, and then upgraded to 10.4.9, and I'm still having the same problem. It appears that the SIS 755 bridge in my system is not being detected properly, causing the following errors. IDEC: family specific matching fails PCI2: family specific matching fails PCI4: family specific matching fails S962: family specific matching fails USB0: family specific matching fails USB1: family specific matching fails USB2: family specific matching fails USB3: family specific matching fails AUD0: family specific matching fails pci1022,1103: family specific matching fails pci1022,1102: family specific matching fails pci1022,1101: family specific matching fails pci1022,1100: family specific matching fails pci-bridge: family specific matching fails display: family specific matching fails pci1039,755: family specific matching fails Furthermore, it seems that AGPGart won't load either as a result. The other area that might shed some light on this problem is that IOPCIFamily has the following two dependency errors: Dependency Errors: com.apple.kernel.iokit: No valid version of this dependency can be found com.apple.kernel.libkern: No valid version of this dependency can be found I've also attached the ioreg for the gurus for the relevent devices: | | +-o pci1022,1103@18,3 <class IOPCIDevice, registered, matched, active, busy 0, retain count 7> | | +-o pci1022,1102@18,2 <class IOPCIDevice, registered, matched, active, busy 0, retain count 7> | | +-o pci1022,1101@18,1 <class IOPCIDevice, registered, matched, active, busy 0, retain count 7> | | +-o pci1022,1100@18 <class IOPCIDevice, registered, matched, active, busy 0, retain count 7> | | +-o pci-bridge@1 <class IOPCIDevice, registered, matched, active, busy 0, retain count 10> | | | +-o IOPCI2PCIBridge <class IOPCI2PCIBridge, registered, matched, active, busy 0, retain count 8> | | | +-o display@0 <class IOPCIDevice, registered, matched, active, busy 0, retain count 16> | | | +-o NVDA,Display-A@0 <class IONDRVDevice, registered, matched, active, busy 0, retain count 10> | | | | +-o NVDA <class NVDA, registered, matched, active, busy 0, retain count 11> | | | | +-o IOFramebufferI2CInterface <class IOFramebufferI2CInterface, registered, matched, active, busy 0, retain count 5> | | | | +-o display0 <class IODisplayConnect, registered, matched, active, busy 0, retain count 5> | | | | | +-o AppleDisplay <class AppleDisplay, registered, matched, active, busy 0, retain count 7> | | | | +-o IOFramebufferUserClient <class IOFramebufferUserClient, !registered, !matched, active, busy 0, retain count 5> | | | +-o NVDA,Display-B@1 <class IONDRVDevice, registered, matched, active, busy 0, retain count 8> | | | | +-o NVDA <class NVDA, registered, matched, active, busy 0, retain count 9> | | | | +-o IOFramebufferI2CInterface <class IOFramebufferI2CInterface, registered, matched, active, busy 0, retain count 5> | | | | +-o IOFramebufferUserClient <class IOFramebufferUserClient, !registered, !matched, active, busy 0, retain count 5> | | | +-o NVKernel <class NVKernel, registered, matched, active, busy 0, retain count 8> | | | +-o NV2DContext <class NV2DContext, !registered, !matched, active, busy 0, retain count 5> | | | +-o NV2DContext <class NV2DContext, !registered, !matched, active, busy 0, retain count 5> | | | +-o NV30GLContext <class NV30GLContext, !registered, !matched, active, busy 0, retain count 5> | | | +-o NV40Surface <class NV40Surface, !registered, !matched, active, busy 0, retain count 5> | | +-o pci1039,755@0 <class IOPCIDevice, registered, matched, active, busy 0, retain count 7> I should also point out that my system is a Socket 754 Athlon 3200+ Venice core. I've been going around and around with this, and can't seem to hit upon the solution. Any ideas? illustrator
Ok... I'm working on a new theory... which is that I might have some old extensions under the Plugins folder in System.kext that are causing problems. (i.e. iokit60.kext). Could someone with a working 10.4.9 install let me know what's supposed to be in there?
