I have installed 10.4.3 8F1099 thanks to Maxxuss using the 1.1a iso patch on a partitioned system ie: disk0s1 is WinXP, disk0s2 is 10.4.3. On a SSE3 Machine running very nicely, thankyou Maxxus. But using the Chain0 method or making disk0s2 partition active, wont work. The only way my new system boots is with the patched .iso as above in my cd drive.. ie the disk is left in after the installation, and the install makes that partition active. Why Why Why. Am I overlooking something. Please Please

**edit** Also I have notice that when selecting the mach_kernel.orig it just reboots, then I have to reselect the root drive ie: rd=disk0s2 for it to boot via CD to HD, even though it is a ....

So your disk is like this: You have OSx86 and Win XP on the same drive, but on different partions, right? I doubt making disk0s2 active will work, because Darwin still loads, and Darwin looks for OSX, although I think you can change it somehow. I'm not sure. Do you have an original XP install disk? The shiny one? If so, try repairing your Win XP installation by selecting repair, then typing fixboot, then fixmbr. Be warned however, this may screw up your entire system. It depends on the configuration of your partitions. It worked on my computer, allowing WIn XP to boot, but I doubt it will start OS X. You can try, however, don't blame me...
