First Time Builder, Budget system, your thoughts?

Okay so this will be my first time trying to build a OsX86 box. I've installed OsX on a few computers so i'm mostly comfortable with that process. I'm going to install 10.4.8 and according to the wiki this processor [intel Celeron D 336 Prescott 2.8GHz LGA 775 64-Bit Processor] works flawlessly.

I originally wanted to buy a 1.66ghz core duo mac mini this summer but being the poor college student I am, bills and beer come first.

So bearing in mind that I'm trying to build a "budget" machine, do you think i'll get adequate performance

out of this processor to run things like iLife '06 etc.?

If this doesn't look good, i'm also open to other low budget suggestions (ie under or around $50 processors)

Thanks!

[EDIT]

I'm thinking of pairing it alongside the Asus P5P800-MX processor, which the wiki also suggested was highly compatible
