Monitor Problem

I'm using a Samsung SyncMaster 194T 19" through direct DVI connection on my ATI X1950 XT. I tried it on two other monitors and it works, but this Samsung (my main one) "shuts down" (actually enters powersaving mode I think) right after the Apple screen....I do see the desktop for half a second though. I connected it to one of the working monitors and set the resolution and refresh rate to the same I use on Windows (1280x1024, 60Hz) but it still does this.

 

Any ideas?

 

Linux/Ubuntu works with the monitor too BTW; in case that matters.
