Laptop display

Hi!

 

I have a laptop and i am really interested in switching off the display(but not the computer) when im idle or when i close the lid.

I tried with energy settings but when the display goes off it won´t wake.

 

Same with sleep, when i sleep the laptop and press the power button it wakes but the display don´t.

 

is there a solution? or even a program to do that?

 

I have a Dell Inspiron 9400

Intel core2duo T7200 GeForce Go 7900GS

my osx86 install is: 10.4.8 JAS install DVD+10.4.9 JAS combo update with titan NV40 drivers and netkas 792.18.15~1/RELEASE_I386 i386 i386 kernel.
