macwanttobe
Hi there ! First of all a big thank you to a community that actually made my dreams come true :-) "Building" a mac is now possible for the crowd... I have JAS 10.4.8 installed on: Pentium D 820, Asrock 4core Dual VSTA, Geforce 5200fx, 1gb PC 3200 Ram, 160gb HD with an Acer AL1916W connected to it - my 22" Maestro is not supported yet :-( Mac OS installed perfect and ran fine after installing DUAL VSTA 4.1(incl. Natit Drivers) and ALC888 Audiodrivers. Now to my problem: Moving windows feels quick as does that little effect when you minimize to dock ... but resizing them or scrolling is very slow(especially with many pictures). Example would be reading a pdf file or a website with many pics - Scrolling through the text i feel like its scrolling at 2 fps. I checked if QE/CI is working so that can´t be the problem. I will add XBench results. Hope you guys can help me - searching the forum brought up nothing. macwanttobe
Ok, I played around on my Macbook Pro and found out: Even on that you can notice a little lag when resizing windows which have many flash animations in them... I guess it just is the Geforce FX. Its not the fastest and considering my results in cinebench compared to the Macbook i think a different Card will do the trick.
