Se_BBB_e Posted November 28, 2005 Share Posted November 28, 2005 I have a SB live! 5.1 card in my computer and I really miss sound in osx. Everything else works great. I also have an old soundblaster 16 from like 1993 or something in another computer... Maybe it's crazy but I thought it might work with osx on the new computer because of its' simplicity. It's a very basic soundcard and works with all dos applications, linux and everything else. But before I take it out of the old computer box id like to hear your opinion about it. I spoke to someone on IRC last night who claimed his SB16 card worked out of the box in 10.4.3, so I'm hoping to find out more, but it may just be..... that 10.4.3 solves your problems... It was an old ISA card and my computer doesn't have any ISA slots I guess I'll have to wait patiently for SB live drivers... Or go buy an extra soundcard It's always good to have two of them... or not... For a more complete solution, get a supported usb sound device. You'll find more info on this in the sound section of the wiki HCL.
