Dids
Hello there, I wasn't completely sure where to post this, so I'm hoping I picked the right thread. Anyhow, I've got OS x 10.4.9 installed on an iBook G3 Clamshell (with firewire) and it runs just fine. I'm not too familiar with Mac-stuff that goes "beyond" OS X, so I was wondering, how would you setup a scheduled boot at a certain time and at a certain date? I'd also need to shutdown at a fixed time & date. I'm also guessing this has something to do with "Open Firmware", since PC's usually have the scheduled bootup in BIOS. I simply want my poor old Mac to start in the morning and shutdown at night, to conserve power. four!
I discovered it by mistake a while back. I use it at work to download big torrent files. Shut my computer down before I leave. It boots up at 7pm and resumes my torrents then it shuts down at 8am before anyone rocks upto work. Work has a faster internet connection than I do at home. Not to mention my G5 is the only Mac on the entire network.
