Tophicles
Hi all! I'm eager to get going on this installer, but I have a mysterious "Waiting on root device" when I boot from the "Mac OS X 10.4.8 [JaS AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1 & PPF2].iso" DVD I made. It was suggested that I use the BikerDude patch for the SATA comtroller (even though I have no SATA drives) but that didn't work either. I'll tyr to be as complete as possible here, please bear with me, I would REALLY love to get this going. My Notebook: AMD-64 3500+ with 1Gb of RAM 120Gb IDE Hard Drive (Fujitsu MVH2120AH) Integrated IDE DVD-RW Drive (HL-DT-ST GCA 4080-N) My Mainboard Detials (from CPU-Z): Chipset: ATI Xpress 200 (RS480) Southbridge: ATI SB400 This includes an integrated Texas Instruments FireWire controller, and here's what I get when I boot from the DVD. It runs, boots and starts the Darwin loader - everything goes great, then I get a line showing my FireWire controller (which it says is ok and active). From that point on, all I get is a "Waiting on Root Device" line over and over again. I hope this is enough info, and advice you may have would be fantastic. I am a PC tech-type-dude, so I can speak with familiarity on the PC side of things, but I feel like a total newb when it comes to this project. Hats off to all who who have gotten it running and to any who offer their help I do greatly appreciate it!

AganhimSlayer
Is anyone still trying to work on this? I got the exact same problem on my 2nd failed attempt at installation. It has been a dream of mine to run MacOs on a pc. Unfortunately this stupid laptop is all i have thats nearly compatible. Unless there is a version that works on the old XP 3200 with an Asus A7N8X mobo. Any ideas would be great.
