pismito
Hello group, I own a Acer 4101 WLMI portable, it has a 1.6 Ghz Dothan Pentium M, (Centrino 2 version), some days ago, I got the 8F1099 dvd and patched it with maxxus mods v1.0 and later with v 1.1 . After install, I used the chain0 method to make a dual boot machine, but I was unable to boot in Mac OS X. Every time I selected to start the MAC system, I got the boot manager menu again but if I press the F8 key just after selecting the MAC option in the boot menu, I get the partitions of my hard drive in a list and can start Mac os X without problems. I have not found any problem with the PAE support, and I am sure that my processor doesn't support it. I'm happy with it, but I would like to know why it works for me and not for others... Any idea? Unfortunately my ATI radeon mobile x700 card is not working at all. I only get a 128 mb vesa emulation. Tak
Your chip does support both PAE and NX. It's a Pentium M 730 1.6GHz/533MHz/2MB which is the current version of the Pentium M. I have the same chip. Check the Intel site for details. Also in Mac OS X "System profiler" doesn't appears the PAE support... it is very extrange Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/4966-1043-working-without-pae/#findComment-31602 Share on other sites
Tak
Oh I see! I think your chip may still support PAE in some form, even though it's not reported in Everest/System Profiler. cyrana
It may be... Boot with -v, I bet OS X says PAE enabled. I have a 1.6GHz Banias Pentium-M, and Everest and CPUz both say no PAE, but it still works and OS X seems to think it has it.
