What is QE / CI and how do i enable it?

I have a Dell GX 270 - P4 2.8ghz 1gig memory, onboard video

I have Jas 10.4.8 installed and running

how do i identify qe / ci .. and how do i enable it if i do not have it done already ?

what is qe / ci ?

is it something that requires a agp / pci-e etc video card ?

thanks in advance

qe = quartz extreme

ci = core image

You will get better graphic performance with each. To enable them you will need to know what onboard graphic (card) you have. If you have Intel onboard graphic sets GMA950 and GMA900 ..... they work well and need only a kext change to work. Do a search here for your onboard graphics and see what pops up.
