bigjohnjr
I installed 10.4.1 about 8 weeks ago, the file was named mac os x 86 release 1, I downloaded it from pirate bay. It works fine on my compaq evo desktop machine. Intel p4 512 megs of ram, etc... I then found a file called os x 86 update 10.4.3. I ran it from the mac and it updated it, or I though so. my about mac still says 10.4.1 safari says 2.02. I still can not watch windows media player plugins from safari and several things still don't work right. Is there a real upgrade or a complete 10.4.3 that I can download and burn to a dvd and do a compete reinstall or a full patch to what I have? I have gone to maxuuss web page and read about patching and I still don't get it. I also can get azureus to work either Thanks John Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/4954-confused-about-1043/ Share on other sites
macgirl
That update isn't a real update, it has some binaries from 10.4.3 but is not like the Apple Updates. There are 2 new versions of 10.4.3 that can update you system to 10.4.3 but read the forum, they had some advantages and some disadvantages. Thats is what I am looking for. I have checked on piratesbay but I did not see it. Metrogirl
There is - there's a bootable 10.4.3 DVD image which you will have to modify yourself with either a patcher or some files you'll find out there. It works pretty well. As Macgirl said, there are advantages and disadvantages so find out if you really want to do this before taking the plunge. Read the FAQs and search the forum! There is also a slightly updated 10.4.3 DVD image which is hard to find and isn't yet patched to my knowledge. Unfortunately we won't be telling you where to find these but you know how to search - you're on the right track but be a little more creative with your keywords. PS according to forum rules, ANY posts of these links or torrents will be moderated out of existence pretty quickly. Sorry. bigjohnjr
I know the rules, I have not and did not ask for any torrent links. Sometimes I just need a little nudge or puch in the right direction. P.S. do you think that Apple will ever sell tiger or any form of tiger for use in plane jane intel machines or is that just a dream? I for one would by it.
