Working PCI Wireless, 10.4.8 and 9

TEW-443PI Trendnet PCI Card, Atheros chipset. Recognized as Airport, support from 10.4.5 IO80211Family.kext, installed with Pacifist

 

Instructions...

 

Download 10.4.5 update from Apple and open it ( show package contents or use Pacifist ) up and copy IO80211Family.kext to your desktop.

Open System/Library/Extensions and backup then delete existing IO80211Family.kext

Copy desktop extracted version to Extensions folder

Use Disk Utilitues to repair permissions

Shutdown

Install Card

Restart

Go to system preferrences/network

New port detected as Airport

 

works on every system if have tried it on, ( only intel based )
