RAM for the Mac Pro now considerably cheaper

As most of you know, one of the weakest points of the Mac Pro has been just one GB of RAM in the default configuration, with very expensive upgrades.

Now if you buy a Mac Pro (in Europe, I haven't checked the US prices) you could do one of the following:

1)Buy it with 4 GB RAM. Cost of the upgrade: €679 (in Italy)

2)Buy it with 1 GB RAM and buy from Crucial Europe two 2GB kits (1GBx2) for €204.44 inc. VAT each. This way you'll save even more and you'll have 5 GB RAM in total. Alternatively, if you don't want to have 6 slots occupied, you can buy a 4GB kit (2GBx2) for €615.69 inc. VAT.

Thus the RAM problem has been solved, from my point of view.

I find that the choice of video cards is still unsatisfactory. I don't want an ATI, no way. But on the other hand between the very low end GeForce 7300 GT and the extremely expensive NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 (€1,460 :) ) I wouldn't know what to choose. A mid-range NVIDIA is a badly needed choice, IMO.

Edit: US prices now checked and put in my signature.
