Help Please?

I've been searching far and wide and cannot find any specific tutorials that I would like.

 

If anybody would be kind enough to help point me in the right direction, this is what I have and what installation I would like :-

 

- 8f1099 install iso

 

I would like to install it like this :

 

- Dual Boot between OSX/WinXP

- I would also like to install it on a separate external HDD.

 

If anybody could help me at this point, it would be great.

I don't know if it's possible install with another HD (Slave), i only installed in my boot HD (master), but i've listened that isn't possible install in USB HD, so if you want to do it thus, i wouldn't recommend it. Follow this tutorial, is for to install osx86 using tiger-x86-flat.img file, click here !. Good Luck !!.

okay, i can get around the USB HDD problem by putting my storage HDD in the external enclosure instead.

 

If I do this, I still need a guide to use the "8f1099" DVD Image I have.

All I need now is somebody to help me configure VMWare. I download VMWare Workstation from the VMWare website.

 

Could somebody tell me how to use VMWare in order to carry on following this guide.

okay, scrap the last few posts.

 

I have now got the tiger-x86-flat.img

 

Is there any way of producing a dual boot system, Xp running on HDD in PC, Tiger running on an external USB HDD.

 

There is a guide about dual booting with an external HDD on the Wiki site.

 

There is an easier way!!!!

 

Step 1. make a Generic OS X install DVD

 

If you have a firewire/USB hard drive, plug in the firewire port, boot up the computer using the Generic DVD, and then format the External HD, and install it onto it, then when you want to boot it plut it into the USB port, and your done! (before you plug in the usb, rmember to unhook the firewire....)

 

It says using the Generic DVD. As in, the original Tiger disc, not osx86?

I don't know any method to install OSX86 using an USB HD, so someone else will have to aid you. Good Luck !!, i think that you'll need it.
