Louis
Could someone confirm that this build (10.4.3 8F1111) does have working ATI video drivers for the 9000 series....on patched-hacked systems..... It would save a lot of bandwith if it does not......has in not having to download 2 Gig to find out! The bad video resolution is the only reason why I'm not using OSX86 on my Presario X1000 laptop more often.....1280x800x32 is not currently possbile....anything esle is painfull to look at...... daddyo
Hi, you may be able to get your driver to work (i'm assuming you have 10.4.3 8f1099). First, edit /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeon8500.kext, and add you PCI ID's there Then reboot into single user mode (-v -s) complete the startup process sh /etc/rc then load the kernel extension kextload /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadion8500.kext this should load. Or at least produce some sort of positive message. then hit control D to exit single user mode and startup the OS. Maybe this will have some work the 9000 (8500) series are similar to the 9200 running in my mac mini which supports quartz extreme (but no core image). Let me know how it goes Cheers daddy-o Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/4864-1043-build-8f1111-ati-video-support/#findComment-32152 Share on other sites
