Somehow the installation crashes straight after the "Choose Your Language" bit... Sometimes the initial menu where I could press "Continue" appears, but most of the time not.

After such a crash the com.apple.boot.pblist error will appear on the next restart, and I have to manually force vmware to boot from the CD.

I tried all settings, paevm false, scsi false etc... different ram values, different virtual diskdrive sizes, ide / scsi etc.

Any clues?

I forgot to mention my system / set up:

AMD 64 3500+, nforce4 chipset, 2xSATA hdd's - however I am trying to run the JAS 10.4.8. AMD INTEL SSE2/3 PPF1/PPF2 on VMWare (Server 1.0.2) so these limitations should not be the problem. These are 2 screengrabs of the Installation Log, the crash happens after the "Select your language" screen:

I've been having this problem too... My setup is as follows:

AMD Athlon64 3700+

Radeon Xpress 200M chipset (ATI SB400 family southbridge)

Parallel ATA hard disk

Linux x86_64, using VMWare for install

I also discovered that this JaS DVD does not have the ATI hard disk controller driver on it, so I can't boot the DVD natively, either. B) So if someone could help out with the VMWare install, I'd be eternally grateful.

Ive been experiencing the same. But When I try to install JaS 10.4.8 natively, i get pass the language selection menu up to the installation menu. The only thing is, i cant get disk utility to work.

When installing in VMware workstation, I cant get pass the language selection menu. And when during -v boot option i get a crash report of "read only file system".
