I've installed 10.4.8 but there is some strange problem! It's hard to explain but I've created a small movie of it which should declare everything:

http://users.skynet.be/jeroenj/osx/10.4.8.mpg

I've searched the forums but I could not find anything... The prblem stays after I update to 10.4.9

I also have some other problems! Bleutooth is not working anymore on 10.4.8/9, where it was working out of the box on 10.4.7 and previous versions. Next to that my USB ports aren't working anymore too (I guess this might cause Bleutooth to not work... not sure of that). I've installed the USB fix on the 10.4.8 disk, but no go on 10.4.8/9...

'About This Mac' crashes too, but I solved this problem with installing the included 10.4.4 login screen.

Hopefully somebody can help me!

Thanks in advance,

Jeroen

The video problem will be resolved with the good patch (i had similar with 7600GT issued with Natit)), for the 9225 drop STAC9225.txt onto AppleHDApatcher

Thx But I already fixed the sound with Taruga's patcher (with the same dump as the one you have attached)

So I should install Natit to fix this problem (I have this when OSX is just installed, not when I have installed any other driver...)

PS: My graphics card is a Go7600 (not the GT). Anyway, I'll try Natit as soon as possible, hopefully it is fixed and I hope I'll have QE/CI, but a lot of Sony VAIO users reported that it didn't work ... :)

OK, I've fixed the USB/Bleutooth problem too now, I did NOT install the USB fix on 10.4.8 DVD (did it before) Both are fixed by not installing so that's fine.. I have USB2.0 speed so no problems here...

The only important thing left is my Graphics card, the GeForce 7600... When I install Natit, I get a black screen after reboot... I can see the gray circle spinning, and after that it goes black and stays like that...

The weird problem (first movie) is also not fixed... but I can't see if Natit fixes it, because of the black screen...

Hopefully somebody can help me out ?

Thx

EDIT:

dev = 0398

ven = 10DE

Oké, I'm quite tired of testing out video drivers now :( I've been playing with it for a week (constantly, had no school :P)

I'm glad of the things I got to work, the only (and most important) thing left is my graphics card! I've reinstalled OSX for about 30 times now, all to test different drivers and settings... Until now NONE of them worked, all of them give me a black screen at reboot (Natit/Titan). MacVidia won't even work.. OSX won't boot anymore.

Only things until now:

- MacVidia 1.0.81 on OSX 10.4.7 -> recognises my Go 7600 and gives me the ability to change resolutions. Screen image is quite distorted with some kind of a raster

- Mobility Kext recognises my Go 7600 but nothing more than that...

http://users.skynet.be/jeroenj/osx/10.4.8.mpg is not fixed too.. Can't get rid of it by any way (fsb,...). I've noticed that when I press F9 or F10, the actual windows are fixed and act normal (new windows have the same problem again).

All this on:

- Sony VAIO FE21M

- nVidia GeForce 7600 Go (DEV=0938, VEN=10DE)

- Core Duo T2300

- JaS 10.4.8 + 10.4.9 (always tested both) @ Semthex 8.8.1 / 8.9.1 kernel

Any advice wourld really be appreciated... I'm playing with OSX on this laptop since August 2006.. Last week fixed a lot of stuff but not the things mentioned above... I can live without wireless (intel 3945) for now so that's not a priority ;)

AFAIK That (Weird Problem) is known as screen tearing. Remove NVDANVxxHAL.kext and Geforce.kext, to solve the problem.

For Natit support, try reading and searching. Give NvidiaEFI a try.

Intel Wireless drivers are also under testing. There is a thread about it in the Hardware section.

Thanks mate, removing those kext's fixed that problem! OSX is a bit more usable now ;)

nVidiaEFI is as far as I know the only thing I forgot to test! Thank for bringing it up to my mind again!

And yep, I saw Wireless drivers are in development! But as long as I don't have a workin video driver, I won't put to much attention at that! One thing at a time, because else it again would be to chaotic like it was in my first days of testing ;):)
